How do you "recharge" alkaline batteries?

Technically speaking this is not a recharger but rather a reconditioner. Alkaline batteries build up a residue inside them which blocks the electrical current. What the Elonex Revive Battery Charger does is it breaks down that current to get 10 more lives our of disposable alkaline batteries. However each life will be a bit shorter than the previous one.
